Our oxazolidine chemistries provide a safe and effective alternative to the use of formaldehyde in curing phenol-resorcinol-formaldehyde (PRF) resins and contain less than 0.1% free formaldehyde as supplied. When used as a rapid-cure system, oxazolidine liquid hardeners can minimize the handling and exposure concerns, as well as expensive engineering controls associated with use of formaldehyde. At elevated temperatures, the oxazolidines cure phenol-formaldehyde (PF) resins as well. This has found utility in the manufacturing of flame retardant composites via closed molding and pultrusion techniques.
In addition, Advancion offers nitro alcohol and carbodiimide chemistries that are utilized across numerous end-use applications as formaldehyde donors or crosslinkers in liquid hardener systems.

DID YOU KNOW?
ZOLDINE oxazolidines are ideal for use in applications where manufacturers require fast initial bond development and can help laminates cured in conventional and radio frequency ovens pass stringent wet delamination tests such as ASTM D-2559, BS-EN-302-2 and JAS SE-9. Acceptable results may also be seen with certain resins under ambient temperature cure conditions (above 25°C). Additionally, oxazolidines have been used to produce PF fiberglass composites, providing excellent results in stringent Flame, Smoke and Toxicity (FST) tests.
