ALKATERGE™ E is a non-volatile, oxazoline-based surface-active agent used in emulsions, dispersions and corrosion inhibitors across a variety of end-use applications. ALKATERGE E is used as a pigment-grinding aid and a pigment dispersant in mineral oil and resin vehicles, as well as a dispersant for flatting agents in varnishes and enamels. Oxazoline compounds, such as ALKATERGE E, also provide utility as an open-time extender in certain latex paint formulations. Solutions of the salts of ALKATERGE E may be used as penetrants in the paper and textile industries, and in the formulation of metal cleaners. A slightly higher HLB (hydrophilic / lipophilic balance) oxazoline surfactant, ALKATERGE™ T, is also available in certain regions.
